Random Thoughts: 09/20/10- 09/27/10

RANDOM THOUGHTS:

The following were on my mind between Monday, September 20th to Monday, September 27th:

- Am I crazy, or does Bob Ley have a really hard time pronouncing "Eagles"?

- I am very much looking forward to the final three episodes of "Mad Men" season four. Not only am I interested in seeing how these three episodes compare to the spectacular final three episodes of last season (which includes the Emmy award winning season finale that I have been raving about from time to time since November), but how they answer some of the questions that have been popping up the last few episodes (and if you haven't watched the last few episodes, I suggest that you just skip these next few sentences). Will Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce keep Lucky Strike from dropping them in the next thirty days? If so, how will they be able to do? And if not, will they be able to assemble a new roster of clients to fill that void? How has Sally been doing with that child psychologist? And what about Joan? Did she have that abortion or not? Will Don's relationship with Dr. Faye be affected in any way now that Don told her about his identity switch during the Korean War (besides the fact that she knows something that only four or five other people in Don's life know)? Hopefully, Matt Weiner and company will not disappoint.

- Whoever designed the eco-friendly Kirkland water bottles with the bottle caps that are hard to open because of its thinness is the most evil person in the world.

- Boy, was I wrong about "Lonestar"! Last Monday, I predicted it to be one of the breakout new shows of the year along with "The Event" and "Mike & Molly." Now, I'm not even sure that it will last into October thanks to their pitiful first episode ratings!

- How is it that I can watch episodes of "Family Guy" a thousand times a week on fifty or so channels, but I can only watch episodes "The Simpsons" on one channel and in a far less frequency? Now, that, is some BS.

- Newsflash, FOX Chicago: you are NOT the only news at 9 o'clock! If you can just flip through the channels, you will see that WGN has their nightly news on at the exact same time. I would probably suggest that you change that slogan.

- I wonder how many times Betty White has thanked the people that put her on that Snickers commercial that aired during Super Bowl XLIV. After all, the so called Year of Betty White that her hosting 'SNL,' win an Emmy and appear in more movies and TV show cameos than usual among other things probably would not have happened if she had not appeared on that commercial.

I'm still thinking about returning the Thursday editions of the Random Thoughts, so don't be surprised if that should occur this week. Otherwise, I hoped you enjoyed this post and I wish you a pleasant weekend.
Sincerely,
Your pal: mj15
