RANDOM THOUGHTS:
Hey, everyone! I hope you enjoyed this Thanksgiving weekend. I know I did! Yup, nothing like spending four days off either eating food with the extended family, watching football, or watching "The Book of Eli" and season two of "Dexter" on DVD, am I right? The following were on my mind between Monday, November 22nd and Monday, November 29th:
- Damn you, Kanye West! How am I supposed to hate you if you continue to make one outstanding song after another?
- I find it ironic how on the day after we're supposed to give thanks for what we have, we wake up early in the morning to simply buy stuff.
- Whatever the Bears did to improve themselves during the week 8 bye has payed off tremendously. Not only have they won four straight and are now first place in the NFC North, but the defense is playing as good as they have been in a while and Jay Cutler is actually making smart decisions on the field to increase his TDs and decrease his turnovers. Overall, they are who I thought they weren't heading into the season, and I am just fine with that.
- Randy Moss: great WR or the NFL's best decoy?
- Finally, an actual helmets off NFL fight! And it featured Cortland Finnegan getting his ass kicked! Couldn't these past four days have gone any better?
- I wonder what the History Channel (or just plain "History" as they like to call themselves now) will fill their programming with if by some chance the Mayans were wrong in predicting that the world will end in December 2012, since they are showing 2012 related programming as much as WWII related programs.
- Speaking of "The Book of Eli," I am pretty positive that Denzel Washington (who played the main character Eli, in case you didn't know) may have had one of the ten or fifteen best bad-ass moments per time on-screen in cinematic film history with this film. I mean, even the way he moved plates from one side to another like he did in one of the film's oppening scenes were pretty bad-ass! Sigh, if only the Elias Sports Bureau could actually have a category dedicated to BAM/OST statistics...
- Showtime: the only network where cheering on serial killers, drug dealers, nurses with drug problems and bipolar mothers is possible.
More random thoughts to come this Thursday! Enjoy the time off before I post November's "End of the Month" until then.
Sincerely,
Your pal: mj15
