RANDOM THOUGHTS:
The following were on my mind between Thursday, September 29th and Monday, October 3rd:
- I sure hope we get a further explanation on Brock's poisoning on Sunday's "Breaking Bad" season finale. So far, I can think of three logical explanations:
a) that Gus knew about the cigarette with ricin and ordered one of his goons to take it from Jesse and use it to poison Brock in an attempt to get Jesse to eliminate Walt himself,
b) Walt ordered it, and executed the plan by having Huell replace Jesse's pack of cigarettes with another one during its extra-long pat down and then having Saul slip it into one of the boy's food or drink while he came by his house to give the mother their weekly dose of Jesse's money, or
c) Brock is took it as a simple case of boy just wanting to experiment or be as cool and mature as Jesse.
The episode left it up pretty much to interpretation, leaving a lot of fans wondering about it (see the major discussions of it on the AV Club or on Alan Sepinwall's recap) as a whole. But then again, I'm just excited for the season finale, period. With this show at this point and their run, I'm expecting anything (and everything) to go down.
- Congratulations, Herman Cain! You've managed to gain in the Republican presidential race but staying relatively quiet and not saying as much stupid stuff. Let's see you keep it up.
- The worst part of the Red Sox collapse this season? The fact that it now gives Red Sox fans another chance to express the misery that they just can't stop getting tired of doing. Every opportunity they get, whether its another rough ending to a season, it's OHMYGAHDTHEPAINTHEMISERYTHECURSEOFTHEBAMBINO2.0YOUDON'TKNOWTRUEPAINASASPORTSFANUNTILYOUFEELOURAHPAIN! And then, when there's another team not named the Red Sox that suffers some kind of choke or heartbreaking loss it's OHIFEELYOURPAINBAKHNAHDENTBAHKNAHBOONEBAHKNAH! And now, we got to see it again during these past few days.
- I think I found another reason as to what made the early episodes of "The Simpsons" so great and much better than new episodes of the show you see today: random explosions. You ever watch any episode from their golden years, like in season four? There's always some person or thing that ends up either falling down or hitting something and then exploding even though it really shouldn't every two or three episode, like Chief Wiggum in that "Duff" mascot in the episode "Duffless" or the nun being blown away to the mountains to die in "Brother From Another Series."
- Did Marion Barber know that he spent the first three games of the season injured before he attempted this backflip in the Bears-Panthers game that almost injured him again?

- Whoever the new White Sox manger will be, I just hope that they will do everything it takes to make sure that Adam Dunn doesn't have the same God-awful type season that he had last year.
- Why is Montell Williams still a spokesperson for Money Mutual? Hey, Money Mutual! This isn't 2007 anymore. Montell Williams has been irrelevant in the public eye for years.
Another special Thursday edition of "Random Thoughts" to come next Thursday. How special? Well, you're just going to have to stop by and find out for yourself. Until then, enjoy the start of your week!
Sincerely,
