Random Thoughts: 10/15/09- 10/19/09

RANDOM THOUGHTS:

The following were on my mind between Thursday, October 15th and Monday, October 19th:

- Holy crap! A Halloween episode of "The Simpsons"... in October! Is that even possible?

- Geez, Fort Collins, police: You actually believe that the "Balloon Boy" story might have been a hoax?! I mean, it's not like the fact that they were on "Wipe Swap," the interviews on "Good Morning America" and "The Early Show" plus the fact that the child was named Falcon are clues?

- What's with all the commercials using songs from "The Beatles"? First Macy's, then Target, and now Blackberry. It's amazing how "Rockband" can impact American culture.

- Man, I've heard of losing streaks before. But not like this.

- I vote this exchange between FOX Sports's Joe Buck and Tim McCarver during the 12th inning of ?Yankees- Angels as the year's weirdest:
Joe Buck: "Well, Tim. Yesterday was your birthday. This is my present to you."
Tim McCarver: laughing
Joe Buck: "Yes. You get to spend the night her with me. It has been fun."

- No "Mad Men" thought for now (stupid Bears game). Quick thought about "Curb Your Enthusiasm": I can't believe that through the seven years of the show's history, this was the first time handicapped people were the main subject. Weird.

- The Bears should ask Roger Goodell and NBC to not make them play on Sunday Night again. That was there 3rd Sunday night loss in a row and Jay Cutler's fifth and sixth INT on Sunday night this season.

- That bird flying with the Raiders team during one of the kickoff returns in yesterdays game was awesome.

- Am I the only one in the world that can't whistle? It's starting to feel that way for me.

More random thoughts to come later this week. Happy post- Columbus Day week, everyone.
Sincerely,
Your pal: mj15
