End of the Week: 12/05/10- 12/11/10

END OF THE WEEK:

Stories of the Week:
-
The Actual Story of the Week: WikiLeaks Founder Julian Assange Taken Into Custody In London On Swedish Warrant
You would figure that he would get arrested by the US government for being "the bad man that wanted Americans to read" as Seth Myers joked on "Saturday Night Live." Nope, it was rape. This guy is the early front-runners for the 2010s version of Al Capone [(in)famous for one thing, arrested for something much different].
- The Tiger Woods Saga of '09 Story of the Week: Miley Cyrus Caught Smoking a Bong
Well, this was inevitable. Can't wait to hear about the Demi Lovato DUI in less than two years.

Video of the Week: "CNN Accidentally Airs Diarrhea Scene From 'Dumb and Dumber'"
"We just didn't put that on TV, did we?" Yes you did, bald CNN anchor who I don't know his full name. Yes, you did.

Un-Repeal of the Week:
"Don't Ask, Don't Tell"
Shows them right for trying to battle John McCain on this issue. Foolish, homosexuals! You can't win when you're taking on The Maverick!
(UPDATE 12/18: Holy crap! Goes to show you how much can change in a week, am I right?)

The "Shut Up, Luke Scott" Moment of the Week:
In an interview with David Brown of Yahoo! Sports, Scott quickly changed the interview to a typically boring one out of nowhere by saying that Obama is not from this country and doesn't represent America. Luke Scott, just shut up.

Person of the Week: Julian Assange (again)
How could someone who I never mentioned before December become the first person to ever get awarded two consecutive Person of the Week acknowledgements? Well, he's still in the news big time since his website released those 250,000 diplomatis cables thanks in large part to that arrest that I mentioned earlier. Second, it turns out that he also has some really passionate fans! This week, supporters of WikiLeaks and of Assage's actions went on the Web this week to hack and cyber attack several websites. These websites include Mastercard.com, Sarah Palin's website, Visa.com and after initially trying to hack Amazon.com, the website famous for blocking WikiLeaks from their server, they settled on Pay Pal instead. This was all under the name "Operation Payback," too. How can you not give it to a man who made people hack credit card websites because they supported him?

And that's the way it is! Enjoy the rest of your weekend, everybody.
Sincerely,
Your pal: mj15
