RANDOM THOUGHTS:
Before I begin, I want to apologize for the delay in posts. A lot of paper work in the past few days have kept me busy, so much so that I just forgot about spending time on this blog until it was a half hour before midnight and by then, I was just too tired to even want to write any more. Hope you understand.
Anyways, no point in delaying this any further. The following were on my mind between Thursday, October 28th and Tuesday, November 1st:
- I understand where AOL TV's Maureen Ryan is saying when she wrote that FX is damaging themselves by picking up the upcoming Charlie Sheen sitcom. Having said that, the channel is part of a business first and foremost. Their goal, besides offering quality programming, is to make money (it's why they're arguing with Direct TV over subscription fees as we speak). So it really should come to no surprise that the network would decide to pick up the show starring one of the most talked about and most watched actors in all of television, who by the way used to star in a popular sitcom that the network is currently airing non-stop in re-runs. Also, while Charlie Sheen has done some pretty horrible things in the past, most Americans today don't seem to care, and they will continue to watch his Tiger Blood ass no matter where he's on, which is the main reason that the network picked it up.
- Tony La Russa's retirement: the epitome of perfect timing.
- I wonder what the White Stripes reactions would have been if someone told them eight years ago that their song "Seven Nation Army" would be played by every college football marching band in America.
- The big story regarding the Kardashians shouldn't be Kim's hilarious short yet completely unshocking divorce with Kris Humphries, but that Khloe and Lamar are improbably still married after nearly two years! Two years! If that were to be put in a ratio with how long most people thought the marriage would have actually lasted, it would be even greater than the 999:1 to bet that this guy won for picking the Cardinals to win the World Series.
- Can you imagine how long "Arrested Development" might have lasted had they been on NBC for the past three years? They would probably be syndication nationwide by now!
- Facebook is introducing something called the "trusted friend," otherwise known as the super friend. I sure hope they include the Seaman alongside it.
- An NFL defender Tebowing right after sacking Tim Tebow? Awesome. Just...God, that is so f*cking wonderful! (http://30fps.mocksession.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/2011-October-30-16-42-57.jpg)
A brand new, on-time edition of Random Thoughts will be here around the same time this Thursday. Now, here's the classic theme from John Carpenter's iconic "Halloween" to take us out, because even though the final day of October was yesterday and we're a day late, it's Dia de los Muertos in Mexico, which is kind of like a Halloween over there. Also, the song rocks, and that's on any day of year.
Sincerely,
Your pal: mj15
