RANDOM THOUGHTS:
The following were on my mind between Tuesday, November 1st and Thursday, November 3rd:
- Truly, the finest hour for ESPN commenters: (http://espn.go.com/blog/afcwest/post/_/id/34680/time-for-elway-to-think-post-tebow). I think it's great that the website would create a new meme of their own for a change. I do have to wonder what went into ESPN's decision to delete all of the "X>Tebow" comments on this post (up until today that is) while keeping some more offensive material on the website all the time?. My guess is because Deadspin, their bane of existence for the last half-decade that isn't new to invading their comments section, has been enabling thousands of others to do it and therefore it must be bad in their eyes. That said, it would be fantastic if there was something even deeper, conspiracy related reason for that.
- I don't know if it's because Matt Stone and Trey Parker are no longer distracted with making "The Book of Mormon" or it's because they've just gotten a lot of good ideas in their head since they made "You're Getting Old," but these last few episodes of "South Park" have been fantastic, probably their best stretch of episodes in the last five years (I'm not counting the "Imaginationland" trilogy because it's all technically one mega-sized episode). The Broadway episode was an instant classic for the show, while last night's episode was a hilarious parody of Occupy Wall Street, with the ending having an ending so insane, you would be certain at one point that Mitch Connor was going to make an appearance. Keep up the good work, you two!
- With Boise State set to join any moment, it's safe to say that the Big East should change their name ASAP.
- The ending to this year's Treehouse of Horror episode of "The Simpsons" is just a perfect example of American advertising. Once October 31st ends and November 1st begins, they just go straight to holiday advertisements without missing a beat.
- Yes to the honesty, no to the not-liking Babe 2: (http://www.avclub.com/articles/universal-studio-president-we-make-a-lot-of-shitty,64529/)
- If you're the boyfriend of a woman who voluntarily killed a horse and went inside it just so she can be "one with it," isn't that the ultimate red flag to get the hell out before it's too late?
Be sure to stop by this Monday for the next installment of the RTs! Now, if you'll excuse me, I have an all-new "Community" to watch. The show needs the ratings, and I am one who is willing to help.
Sincerely,
Your pal: mj15
