Eagles/Seahawks, The Awful Grammys, and the Pathetic Kris Humphries

RANDOM THOUGHTS:

The following were on my mind between Monday, November 28th and Thursday, December 1st:

-I have had an incredibly busy week so far. So much so, in fact, that I just didn't have a lot of time the last three days to spend in front of a computer working on this week's NFL predictions columns (one that I've decided to include the newest installment of "End of the Week" along with it)
in time for tonight's Thursday night matchup between the Eagles and Seahawks. So, I've decided instead to postpone it (for the only time until week 17, I swear!) until later tonight or tomorrow afternoon. In the meantime, though, because I'm sure that you still at least want a taste of my predictions, hear is what I have to say about tonight's game, along with a pick:

Philadelphia Eagles (-3) vs. Seattle Seahawks: Thursday- 7:20 p.m.
mj15's pick: Seattle
I'm gonna be honest: I'm not very comfortable with the idea of the Eagles again without Michael Vick, now for the 3rd week in a row, traveling coast-to-coast on short. Sure, Vince Young played well last week against the Patriots, but any quarterback this year can play well against them (they are ranked dead last in stopping the pass, after all). Also, Seattle has a much tougher defense, and Marshawn Lynch is primed once again to get into "beast mode" against that Eagles front seven ridiculed throughout the season. In other words, expect a nice moral victory for the Seahawks at home on primetime.

mj50's pick: Seattle

-
Courtney Love is now Lindsay Lohan's new sober coach. This should end well.

- The fact that Kanye West's "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" was not nominated for Album of the Year, while Rihanna's "Loud" was officially makes this year's Grammy nominations a joke.

-
Winner of the TV Guide Fan Contest and now the proud owner of a Facebook page with over a million followers. "Community" may have gotten screwed by NBC with the midseason bump, but at least the fans have not stopped the show from going out without a fight.

- I'm all for Kris Humphries trashing Kim Kardashian since the marriage and saying that she used him for her reality show. But to be honest: what did the guy really expect? The woman is a fame-whore whose big acclaim to fame was a sex tape that she starred in years back and made you be part of her big televised wedding. Why would you ever think that this would be a "genuine marriage"? Seeing him crying "Why me?" and throwing a defrauding lawsuit at her is...well, is a bit pathetic, and doesn't make you that much of the good guy in this divorce battle either.

- This is a country that has the Patriot Act still in effect. The fact that people are shocked at their cell phones having the privacy-disturbing Carrier IQ technology shouldn't really have come as a shock.

Be sure to stop by in the next twenty four hours for my NFL picks column extravaganza, and be sure to also stop by this Monday for more freshly baked RTs. Otherwise, enjoy the rest of your Thursday, everybody!

Sincerely,
Your pal: mj15
