Brett Favre Brett Favre Brett Favre Brett Favre Brett Favre Brett Favre Brett Favre Brett Favre Brett Favre

RANDOM THOUGHTS:

Sorry about the title. I just figured that if Deadspin could get 3 million hits and counting on a post showing his inappropriate phone calls/penis photos to Jenn Sterger, then maybe I could get a few extra page views simply by writing his name repeatedly as the title. Instead, here's the same old random thoughts column that you've known and hate for over a year now. The following were on my mind from Columbus Day 2010 to October 14th, 2010:

- I'm giving Dish Network until early November to finally end their dispute with FOX Broadcasting. I know that they are probably not the ones to put most of the blame on FX, National Geographic and many regional sports channels being dropped...but I still need my weekly dose of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia"! And if I don't finally get it soon, well then I guess I will be a Direct TV subscriber in the near future.

- I'm starting to get the feeling that Peter King is writing his weekly Monday Morning Quarterback column under the belief that all of his readers know nothing about football.

- Minka Kelly: Esquire Magazine's Sexiest Woman Alive...or Sexiest Woman Who Was Able to Schedule a Photo Shoot In Time For This Issue?

- According to TMZ, the kid on "Two and a Half Men" (Angus T. Jones) has just signed a contract that would earn him up to $14.4 million over the next two years. His age? 16. Now, if that isn't a "FML"-worthy news bulletin, then I don't know what is.

- Well, after twelve episodes it has finally come down to this: the "Mad Men" season four finale. So many questions left to answer, so little time left. Here is my prediction as to what I think will happen in this Sunday's episode: Don and other members of Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce will have a meeting with members of the American Cancer Society public information committee. According to my research, Conrad Hilton, who was last seen in the season three finale announcing to Don that Sterling Cooper and formally ending their relationship, was a member of that council in 1965. Hilton must have been impressed by Don's ad in last week's episode and will probably want to be a client of SCDP. This will probably save the agency and the C in SCDP will be changed from Cooper to Campbell since Cooper quit last week. Anything else that could happen is beyond my wildest guess. Overall, I just hope that this will be a great episode.

- Let's hope that the Vikings' week 15 game against the Bears will be the last time we see ESPN broadcasting an NFL game with Brett Favre in it. The last thing I want to see is another broadcast like the one from this past week.

New random thoughts to come this Monday. Until then, I hope you enjoy the rest of your workweek.
Sincerely,
Your pal: mj15
