End of the Week: 11/22/09- 11/29/09

END OF THE WEEK:

And we're back! I hoped you enjoyed your turkey. Now, as every Saturday at the mj15 blog, here are some of the moments that stood out over the past seven days:

Recommendation of the Week: Be Proud to Be An American
We just went through a holiday in which we ate as many food as we want, spending time with out familes, and watching football and parades on Thursday while having an extra day off for no reason whatsoever on Friday. Meanwhile, the rest of the world just spent the past three days like a normal workday. If that doesn't make you want to eat some apple pie and sing some patriotic song, I don't know what would.

Video of the Week: "Beatles 3000"
I was going to pick the Muppets' Bohemian Rhapsody as this week's top video. That was, of course, before I spent five minutes on the floor laughing after I saw this video. And, who knows, maybe history overtime will be screwed up so much that Scottie Pippen was a member of the group, one of their hit songs was "Parents Just Don't Understand" and that they indeed defeated the New York Giants 21-7 in the Super Bowl.

Story of the Week: Tiger Woods Injured In a Minor Car Accident

It's been a really rough week for the greatest golfer in the world. First, the National Equirer wrote a story that Woods might be having an affair with a 34 year old New York City woman (http://deadspin.com/5413048/tiger-woods-rumored-to-be-getting-his-becky-on-internet-declares). Now, this. Anyways, he's all right, which begs the question: what was he doing in his car at 2:45 in the morning? It seeems like Woods would be the least likely person to be doing this kind of stuff, no?

People of the Week:
Michaela and Tareq Salahi
for actually being able to not only plan on crashing President Obama's first state dinner as President, but actually succeeding at it. For those of you that haven't heard, on Wednesday President Obama hosted a dinner in the White House that included many elite guests that were invited including Brian Williams, Steven Spielberg, M. Night Shyamalayan and Nancy Pelosi. The two Salahi's, a couple from Virginia, were not part of the invitees. Yet, for some unknown reason, they were able to get in the White House and attend the dinner with what appears to have been no problem at all.
Also, the did not only attend the dinner, but were also able to meet and take pictures with the President, the Vice President and other people at the event. Michaela Salahi even put some of the photos on her Facebook page. Now, how the couple were able to get there is still a mystery. Still, though, you have to give them credit for actually getting past the Secret Service and all the other security at the event and being able to attend, especially since they aren't some evil terrorist masterminds. Not to mention the possible of criminal charges they could be facing becuase of this. I mean, they could go to prison!

And that's the way it is! I'll be back tomorrow, as always, on Monday. Until then, enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Sincerely,
Your pal: mj15
