What mj15 Is Thankful For

Hey, it's me again! As I mentioned yesterday, I decided to not make another "random thoughts" post this week because I want to be able to take Turkey Day off. What I have decided to do though, is to give thanks to things in my life and society in general that I find really awesome in some way or another. Without these things around, my life or lives of people around me just wouldn't be the same. Everyone has one, here are mine (besides family, friends and good health, of course):

NFL Red Zone

I cannot believe that I just spent years of my Sundays during football season watching only one (two if I was lucky) game at a time, when I could've seen the best parts of every game all nn one channel, LIVE! I mean, besides host Scott Hanson and plug-ins for parent company NFL Network (even though the channels says it doesn't do advertisements) this channel is the best thing to happen for me, a football fan without Direct TV's more superior Red Zone Channel, since getting the NFL Network. I get to watch some of the best moments during every afternoon football game every week. For example, last week I watched the incredible Browns-Lions ending, the two OT games and the ending to Buffalo- Jacksonville in the span of 22 minutes. I know for people who has had Direct TV's Red Zone Channel for years it isn't new, but for me it was football heaven.

President Barack Obama

Look, I know that he might have not had the first year we all thought we would have in which he would solve the health care and mortgage crises, plus but the DOW up 20,000 points in a span of one year. At best, I could give his grade at this point either a C- or an incomplete. However, I'm still glad he's in charge, because life is much better here with him as president then it would have been with Father Time and his sidekick, Miss Wasilla 1984.

"Mad Men": Season 3 Finale ("Sit Down, Have A Seat")

Was it the best hour of television drama I've ever saw? Maybe not, but it was definitely the best hour of television drama I've seen over the last twelve months. It was terrific and satisfying in so many ways, from the ending to the resolutions of many of the season's conflicts to even Roger Sterling's one liners. It even made me forgive creator Matthew Weiner for the boring first half of the season.

NBC's Comedy Thursday

From the always reliable shows like "The Office" and "30 Rock" to their terrific new programming like "Parks and Recreations" (my early vote for the Emmy for Best Comedy) and "Community," it is by far my favorite part of the TV week. After all, there's nothing like a great laugh to end your work week.

The Internet
Is an explanation of why I'm thankful for it even neccessary? It's got everything!

Mozilla Firefox
If it weren't for it's "restore previous session" option after every time my crappy, virus-filled Windows XP computer freezed, who knows how many of my unsaved data and drafts for my 56 current blog posts would have been lost forever.

The Beatles

I know they broke up nearly forty years ago, but their music lives on forever in many people's lives. Including mine. From the classics like "Hey Jude" and "Come Together," to the lesser known songs like "Eleanor Rigby" and "I Am the Walrus," it always brings joy to me and is one of my favorite music bands to listen to. I mean, why do you think I even think I do the "Beatle-tastic Song of the Week" every Thursday?

LCD HDTV's Hanging On the Walls of American Living Rooms

because there's no better way to improve you fake superiority and your state-of-the-artness than a 42" bigscreen hanging on the walls of a room like teh Staute of David.

F My Life .com
Are you feeling bad about yourself? Looking for some way to make yourself happy in tough situations? Well, then this site is for you! Becuase, at least your life isn't as bad as some of the people on this site (unless they are, in which case I feel pity on you). Plus, most of the things posted is actually pretty funny, and a good way to divert some of your boredom.

NCAA March Madness On Demand

This is the second best thing to happen to college basketball fans everywhere. You get to watch every game of the NCAA Tournament, no matter what round it is. Did I mention it's free? It can't get any better!

You, the Reader of The Blog
After all, I wouldn't do this blog without your support. Even though you haven't e-mailed me once the past four months. Or even given me a kudos or comment on my posts. Still, though, you view it, which I guess is okay (thought you could do better).

There of course are many other things I'm thankful for, but I decided to pick these because I thought that they stood out the most. Anyways, thank you for reading and I wish you a happy Thanksgiving! But before I go, what's a week here on the mj15 blog without the "Beatle-tastic Song of the Week"? Nothing, that's what. So here's this weeks featured song, from the year 1963, here's "I Want to Hold Your Hand". Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to do my pre- Black Friday aerobic exercises. Those ladies can get pretty feisty once the store opens.

Sincerely,
Your pal: mj15
