Random Thoughts: 11/30/09 - 12/03/09

RANDOM THOUGHTS:

The following were on my mind between Monday, November 30th and Thursday, December 3rd:

- Ge just sold NBC Universal to Comcast?! Forget what happens to NBC, I want to know what happens to Jack Donaghy, and whether or not this news can be used to headline "30 Rock"s final season in 2011-12.

- Oh man, it's that time of the year again! No, not the holiday season. I'm talking about the time of my TV viewing year where all of my favorite cable shows have all finished their seasons. First, it was "Mad Men" and "Real Time with Bill Maher" who had their season finales. Then, "30 for 30" went on hiatus. This was then followed by the season finales of "Curb Your Enthusiasm," "South Park," and soon, "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." Great, just great. Now I have to wait until "Breaking Bad" and "South Park" start in March before I could watch another good cable show again.

- Dammit, two of my fantasy football teams are facing Chris Johnson! And considering the fact that I picked either LT or Michael Turner in the draft before him, I believe he's going to have a great week. Curse you, fantasy football gods!

- Don Draper and Bill Clinton are not pleased in the way Tiger Woods handled this affair with this woman:

- If the Manny Pacquiao- Floyd Mayweather fight ends up being a downer, it will officially be the end of boxing as we know it.

- While there are some nice and, yes, funny moments, I just can't seem to like "Modern Family." I don't know what it is. I mean, I'm supposed to like it, with the great reviews the show's been having. But there's something about it that makes me hate it. Maybe it's the tone of the humor. Maybe it's the gushy, we all love each other endings in every episode. Or maybe it's the fact that I don't necessarily relate.
After all, I'd probably like the show better if I was a guy in his early 40's with two or more children. Or maybe it's unrealistic way they portray the children. Oh, well, I'm still going to watch it and hope that it get's better.

- Gosh darnit, if Hulk Hogan can come back to wrestle in his 60's, then Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson can come back to wrestle for ONE NIGHT. Just one night. The WWE needs him, both for ratings and for a better atmosphere in the crowd. I mean, did you ever watch the crowd whenever he arrived in the ring during his prime. The arena was freakin' electric!

- I take back my random thought in my very first blog post back in July. ESPN is a hypocrite! It took them two days to report the civil rape case of Ben Roethlesberger. But as soon as the Tiger Woods story broke out, they came down on it like a pigeon goes after bread crumbs.

And that's that! Once again, I want to thank you for reading, and I hoped you enjoyed it, even though it might have had a little negative tone. Okay, maybe a lot. But don't worry, one day there will be an entire "random thought" post solely on positive ideas. But until that happens, here's another edition of the "Beatle-tastic Song of the Week." This week, it's one of the best songs featuring George Harrison as the lead vocalist (if not the greatest), "Here Comes the Sun." Enjoy:

Sincerely,
